Ingredients:
1 tbsp. Miso of choice
2-3 tsp. lemon juice
¼ -1/3 cup water (enough to make sauce creamy)
1 lb. tofu, firm or extra firm, cut into at least 8 slabs
1 tbsp. sesame seeds, roasted Optional
¼ cup scallions/chives, sliced Optional
Directions:
1. Place miso and lemon in a bowl, and mix well. Add water and puree until sauce is smooth and creamy.
2. Place tofu in a shallow baking dish, leaning the slices against each other so that they are slightly tilted ( I l l l l ) as illustrated.
3. Spoon sauce over tofu to create a line of sauce down the center of each slice. About one inch on each side of the tofu slices should be left uncovered with sauce.
4. Bake in a 350" F oven for about 15-20 minutes.
5. Remove baking dish and sprinkle a few sesame seeds and a few scallions or chives on top of miso sauce. Place in oven again and bake 2 minutes. Remove and serve hot.
